Characterized by its flat relief, this municipality preserves many caves from thepretalayotic period, which were used as housing. From Roman times there are finds of amphora's, pieces of pottery, coins and funerary urns. In its vicinity the museum and Fra Juníper Serras (founder of California) ancestral home are located, as well as Sant Bernardí´convent, Bonany chapel and Olivery wineries. The town holds it annual festival on 21st July in honour of Santa Práxedes. 

Pollença 

It is the eighth biggest municipal area of Mallorca in number of inhabitants and the sixth in surface. Located in the Serra de Tramuntana, Pollença city, with the Port de Pollença and Sa Font development, is situated in its interior, whereas the coast, around 35 kilometers long, is curved and steep. From the pretalayotic period several caves, which were used as housing and places to bury, are preserved. From Roman times, the Roman bridge and the remains of the water canalization in Can Punxa, can Qüec, Ternelles and Pontarró are preserved. The Vandal invasion, in 1425, resulted din Pllentia Roman city´s sacking and the destruction of the aqueduct. In the Islamic period the municipal area belonged to the judge of Bulansa and Gumara and Matgara tribes lived in  it. In the municipality with an economical activity based on tourism since 1950, one can see the Calvari staircases, the Puig de Maria, from where there is a panoramic view over Pollença and Alcúdia bays, Sant Domingo´s convent and chapel, Roser Vell oratory and the baroque church. The most outstanding traditions are those of the Aguilies´ old dances and the battle between Muslims and Christians re-enacted each year.
