Close friends of ours discovered Cala d or and asked us to visit their villas. We accepted their offer and soon fell under its marina spell. Just like our friends before us we decided to tour the island to prove that Cala dor wasn´t unique - and like them we failed. Within a few months we bought our first holiday home in Cala d or.

Cala d´or has so much to offerand is open nearly all year, there are several secluded sandy coves and beaches, a marina bustling with life - many interesting walks and cycling. There are many fine restaurants to suit all palates and large pockets while offering such a range and many choices that it is impossible to sample them all on any two week holiday break. You can choose to eat around the harbour and watch the boats and yachts come and go or sit in a pedestrianised precinct if you prefer to watch the people go by German, French, Italian and Dutch.The restaurants are staffed by friendly Spanishin the main and they are people who will remember you from visit to visit and will greet you as a long lost friend each time you return to visit them. The same friendliness exists throughout the village and it must be in the air and in the general ambience a town which feels like a village. Close by thier are other good beaches and coves, some are devoted to fishing boats and others are wihin a short drive, there are several fascinating old towns, lovely villages like Calonge - some village and towns have wonderful markets which we visit on many occasions as there is always something new to view. If you are more adventurous then other parts of the island are within a few minutes easy reach by car.

IT is the time for us to move from our Taylor Woodrow two bed, top floor apartment with views of the marina, and lovely pool to look for a smaller property - so we can make a permanent home in our later years in Cala dor. We won´t be moving far from this magical place Calad'or!
